Conservation Notes
'The most sought after and valuable groundfish on the local market. Managed as a bycatch of teh hake trawl and longline fisheries, though an experimental longline fishery in the 1980s depleted the stocks considerably, and stocks are still reduced. A closely related species imported from New Zealand, Australia and South America where it is known as "ling" or "pink ling"
